School Swimming Pool Enclosure

The 20m x 10m pool at the Reading Blue Coat School was an important feature in the famous and long established schools curriculum. Not only did the pool serve for the obvious swimming lessons but was also used, because of its size, for canoe practice, life saving lessons and sub aqua training.

However, obvious restrictions were being outdoors the practical swimming season was short. Labour costs for keeping the outdoor pool clean were considerable and heating costs were huge, so covering the pool became a priority.

After long research the school opted to install an Olympia style Algarve pool enclosure from Summit Leisure. Installed during the school's Christmas break swimming lessons were then in the programme for the start of term in January.
